2026 - 2027 Equity Mini Grant Application
The Student Equity Subcommittee is happy to announce that the 2026 - 2027 Student Equity Mini Grant Application is now available online! Your LBCC credentials are required to complete the application. The focus for this year’s Equity Mini Grant is
"Supporting mattering and belonging, persistence, transfer, and completion for Black/African American & first-generation students."
Various departments and areas of the college, as well as individual faculty, staff, and Student Clubs, can now apply for a Mini Grant ranging from $100 - $5,000 to support a student equity project for their area, or for the campus at large.
All student equity Mini Grant proposals should aim to close equity gaps for Black/African American & first-generation students as outlined in the LBCC Student Equity Plan. Particularly, we are interested in proposals that seek to address successful completion of transfer-level math and English, persistence, transfer, and degree completion for Black/African American & first-generation students.
The rubric that will be used to score your proposal is available for your review and should serve as a guide for drafting your project: Equity Mini Grant Scoring Rubric

Reminder: Equity Mini Grants are distinct from the Equity Innovation Grants in that they are only for 1 year, range from $100 – $5,000, are more restrictive in what the funds can be used for, and are aimed at short-term projects to address the equity gaps here at LBCC.
If you have any questions about the mini grants, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at studentequity@lbcc.edu.
Thank you for your interest in Long Beach City College's Equity Mini Grant. We are no longer accepting applications at this time.
