Strong Workforce Program: More and Better Career Technical Education to Increase Social Mobility and Fuel Regional Economies with Skilled Workers.
More = increasing the number of students enrolled in programs leading to high-demand, high-wage jobs​.
Better = improving program quality, as evidenced by more students completing or transferring programs, getting employed, or improving their earnings.

- FUNDING PERIOD: JULY 1, 2025, TO JUNE 30, 2026
Who Should Apply? Professional Development and SWP Local focus areas are for faculty focused on building connections to high-wage, high-demand CTE programs, staff seeking to heighten professional development aligned with a CTE or Workforce area, and for field trips or competitions, and work-based learning opportunities for students. The Marketing focus area is almost exclusively for programmatic promotion and recruitment of CTE programs and initiatives by faculty and staff using various communication mediums.
Final submission of the application must be complete and include the budget. If applicable, email them to the Workforce Education department at we@lbcc.edu. All tangible expenditures proposed in this request must be encumbered in a purchase order by January 31, 2026. Any unspent funds will be reallocated upon that date.
Note: The Chancellor's office reserves the right to deny a proposal after it is submitted in NOVA. If your proposal is denied, Workforce Education will contact you directly.
